With 2,500 nominations cast over five months, impassioned pleas from all corners of England, Scotland and Wales, and a hefty mileage from our dedicated regional judging panels we are delighted to reveal the Best Rural Retailer competition's regional winners of 2007.

This year has been a first in that receptions have been held at the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly to celebrate and honour our Scottish and Welsh retailers with MSPs and AMs. For the purposes of the competition Wales is split into two regions, so in another "first," at the Welsh Assembly on 12th December 2007, an "All-Wales" winner was chosen in each category.   

Please click on your region in the left hand column to find out who has been judged to be the best of the best this year. Our congratulations to everyone who has made it this far - your details will now go before our national judging panel who will select an overall winner in each of our four categories.

We look forward to meeting all regional winners at the House of Lords on 6th February 2008 when the national winners will be announced.  

And if your retailer was not successful in 2007, the 2008 competition will open in September under the new name of the Countryside Alliance Awards, when we hope to be welcoming Northern Ireland back into the mix.
