A very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year to all nominees and we look forward to announcing regional winners in January. Welsh finalist Win Morgan of Morgans Newsagents in Llangadog, Carmarthenshire, has really got into the festive spirit, Post-Office style!
On 18th March 2009 the UK Winners’ Reception will be held at the Houses of Parliament in London and the all-UK winners will be revealed. All regional winners will be invited to this popular reception.

The Ribble Valley Food Trail has made the North West final in the Rural Enterprise category. The Lancashire Telegraph has reported on this saying: "The food trail is the brainchild of Ribble Valley Council and chief executive David Morris believes nomination for the award was testament to the hard work of all those involved. He said: “The Countryside Alliance Awards recognise the best rural enterprise and regeneration projects in the UK and to be shortlisted is fantastic. The Ribble Valley Food Trail been a huge success and the council has shown that, despite limited resources, it is capable of outstanding work.” Read Ribble Valley food trail in line for major award .
