The Countryside Alliance’s 2006 Best Rural Retailer competition is now in full swing, with over 400 nominations already received, a massive increase on this time last year. The competition, which honours the vital role rural retailers play in their local communities, is open to nominations here at www.bestruralretailer.co.uk until the end of October. |

BBC Online recently published a story which could have been tailor-made for the Best Rural Retailer competition. "Plant tree,' air travellers urged" focused on Welsh farmer, Ru Hartwell, who has launched a business called treeflight.com. |
