Welcome to the website of the Countryside Alliance Awards. The Awards exist to champion the people, skills, produce, enterprise and heritage of our rural communities. The 2009 Awards will open to nominations on 3rd September 2009. 

Morgans Newsagents and Post Office in Llangadog, Carmarthenshire, crowned their winning year by holding a party for the entire community in the shop on Friday 29th May 2009. The team celebrated winning the Alliance's Award for best Village Shop/ Post Office in Britain at a House of Lords reception in March, and have continued their winning streak with several awards since.

Countryside Alliance Chief Executive Simon Hart attended the party (pictured second from left with the Morgans team) along with Countryside Alliance Director for Wales, Rachel Evans, and Awards Director Jill Grieve. Simon told the assembled locals that Morgans was a worthy winner and a credit to rural Wales, and the party went on until the wee small hours.
