Welcome to Northfield Farm

Welcome to the Northfield Farm website. We launched the site on Monday 4^th 2007 December. There is still a great deal of work required in lots of areas, but we felt it was best to get it up and running as soon as possible.

For the first time customers can now order from us on-line. This is a touch more complicated for a bespoke product such as ours as opposed, for example, to a more commodity type product such as a book or a household appliance. There seems to be an almost infinite variety of ways in which customers would like us to butcher their meat, be it thickness of a steak, number of ribs in a joint or variation in individual appetites when ordering by the traditional measure of "to feed 6 people".

We all know how contentious it has been in recent years to accommodate those customers who wish to exercise their right to continue to order in 'imperial' or as some of you like to call it, "old money". Imagine what it can be like when some ask for a "lump" of this or that! To this end, although you put your credit card details into our secure on-line system, we still will not deduct the final amount until we have made up your order, just before it is despatched from here.

We have already had many more hits and orders than we expected. In the past our customers have tended to prefer to speak to us on the phone or visit the farm in person, and have then begun to use email as a means of ordering. Hopefully this will continue.

I am determined that Northfield continues to be a very personal business and am keen to encourage personal contact between the staff here and each of our customers.
